Nice weather.

Weather warmed up nicely. It was in the 50s this afternoon. Suppose to be in the 40's tomorrow. May head to the club and blow some cobwebs out of some of the guns tomorrow. Still trying to find my M1A. NRA says obama and crew are making noises on the assault weapons ban as well as the large magazine ban again. Should drive prices back up and availability down. Still can't believe there are enough mentally challenged people in the US to put a Chicago politician into the oval office. Not to mention all the chicago parasites he brought with him. Arizona shooting was a horrible thing done by a mental reject. But the democrats will be turning it into their ammo for the new gun control laws they have on the way. Somehow the nimrods can't figure out gun control only disarms the law abiding citizens. You look at chicago (nobama country) where guns are forbidden to anyone except criminals and aldermen (same thing) and the crime rate there, you would think anyone with sense would see it does not work. Not the democrats. At least Chicago will have a new face in their antigun arena. Daley is stepping down after bleeding chicago for all he could. Rahm finally paid off the right person to get on the ballot. So at least they will have a new dictator to look at.  Hope I can find my M1A before the mental midgets get a new ban in place. Hope the Republicans can put someone up in 2012 that can take the reins. One more term with numbnuts and we may not have a country left.

The moron's oxymoron

Today, in his address, Obama brings up how the US led in space travel and all the innovations and advancements in technology that came from it.How we beat Russia to the moon. How this led to computers and microchips as well  as other innovations.  He brings this up as he and his administration dismantles our space exploration program and scuttles our space shuttles leaving us relying on the Russians (who we previously beat out in the space race) for a ride to the space station we built. I wonder if he reads his speeches before reading them out loud. He inadvertently credits past leaders for where the US is today, and then demonstrates how today's administration (his administration) is dismantling it.

Green Bay wins

Watched Green Bay win. Pretty good game. I should have put money on it at work when I had the chance. I picked GreenBay and Pittsburgh for going to the superbowl. They don't have the betting boards down here like they had when I worked up north. Added a little more interest to the game if you could win a little. Back to work tomorrow. It was a pretty relaxing weekend all in all. Went to the store and saw the new caramel filled kiss candies that they have been advertising on tv. They are very addictive. Happy Monday all.

Whittaker run

Went to Whittaker gun shop today. Their website showed they had the M1A I have been looking for in stock, as well as a couple springfield trapdoors. They didn't have the M1A when I got there. They have the scouts and the stainless barreled loaded versions. They have the synthetic stock ones. For some reason, it is almost impossible to track down a loaded M1A with a blued national match barrel and sights. When they get one in, it is gone before I can get there. Hopefully find one at the armory show next month. If not, April machine gun shoot not too far off. The trapdoor was in alot worse shape than they let on in the ad. It was still a nice trip. Still trying to figure out which shotgun to get. The club spotshoots will be starting up again in less than a month. I also checked out their retro rifles while I was there. They have the modern reproductions of the Sharpes rifles, as well as the trapdoors. They also had mini sharpe models chambered in .22. It was a nice day.

Missed gun show

Worked a lot of overtime all week including yesterday. Really wanted to go to Indy gunshow, but lacked ambition. Did have a nice day around the house though. Made some corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes. Also got around to trying Brigid's recipe for homemade blueberry muffins which were really good. I would post a link, but don't know how. Her blog is "home on the range' on my side bar. She has some great food recipes as well as alot of good reading. Have to see if my brother made any new acquisitions at the show. Believe they have one in March, so I shall see about making that one. May go down to Whitakers during the week. They have a 1873 Springfield trapdoor "government property" for sale at a decent price. They are also showing the M1A I have been looking for as in stock.Og gave me a link to a site with a nice CAD program I may get and start playing with during the week. Have to get out of this winter funk. I hate winter. Go to work when it's dark, and get home at dark. Miss the sun.Spring can't get here quick enough.

Lazy day

It was a nice new years. Just relaxed at home with the dog and watched some movies. I got the new Resident Evil movie. It was pretty good. I saw it on the big screen in 3D originally.

Made a vat of homemade chili and some corn bread. Don't like going out on amateur night. Got up this morning and it was raining real hard. Decided against the range. Hopefully next year they put down some gravel going out to the targets. It gets really muddy after the rain. Temps dropped off pretty radically during the day. From the 60's down to the 30's. Spring can't get here quick enough.

Hope everyone had a safe and good New Years.
